Sri Lanka is a land with a long, rich history and abundant natural resources. Ancient ‘Ceylon’ was well-known for high quality gems, herbs, and spices. Historically, the local people followed a lifestyle and rituals that enhanced their health and wellbeing. Further, they believed in powers and strengths in the universe to enhance their wellbeing. Sapphire gem studded jewellery were amongst the most widely used by many affluent and rich people, including the Royal families.
Sri Lanka is well known for the best quality natural sapphires in the world. I was fortunate to be born in Eheliyagoda, Ratnapura, which id the gem hub of Sri Lanka. I believe it’s my responsibility to share the benefits and invisible universal strengths of this precious natural sapphires with the world. My aim is to enable those who wish to enjoy the benefits, to get the best.
My strengths are two-fold in jewellery manufacturing process. One, I collect gemstones either directly from our own gem mines, or from those involved in the industry around us, with their trust and blessing. My responsibility is then to add value to the gemstone, with the support of the craftsmen to cut and polish the gems, design, and produce the jewellery with high quality standards. Two, with the resources I have, from the gem mine until a fine finished jewellery, I have the capacity to finish the final product at reasonable cost, as no middlemen get involved.
I believe
it’s my duty to ensure a good quality of life for the workers in the gem and jewellery industry, which is essential for the sustainability of the industry. I’m concerned about the potential damage to the environment during gem mining and jewellery manufacturing processes and dedicated to minimizing any harm.
My policy is to produce jewellery using 100% Sri Lankan gemstones and Sri Lankan labour. My country is going through a difficult period, and I wish to contribute my best for Sri Lanka to build its economy and restore the lifestyle of its people. In order to do this, my task is to make our quality assured jewellery available to the people around the world who know the value of it, through the agents and showrooms around the world.
My aims go beyond profit-making business, and my focus is on enabling the people in the world who know the health and other benefits of natural gemstones, to get genuine high quality products. My venture puts humanity first, ensuring the best possible care for my customers and my workers. I’m very much interested in joining hands with anyone who would like to contribute to creating a renowned jewellery brand in the world.

I’m Dushyanthi Alagiyawanna, the co-founder and Director of ‘The Blue Infinity’. With Mr. Nilantha Wijerathna- the founder and the Managing Director (MD) of our company, my aim is to introduce finest gem studded jewellery under the brand ‘The Blue Infinity’ to the jewellery lovers around the world.
Our company goals go far beyond profit making. Inspired by the noble humane attitudes of our MD, I believe it’s my duty to contribute to sharing health and wellbeing benefits to mankind, while helping the people in my motherland enjoy the abundant natural resources they are gifted with. In this process, I see a huge potential within our company to bring out the best of Sri Lankan gem studded jewellery with the finest finishing to the customers with maximum possible contribution to the sustainability of the environment and the gem industry.
In my background, I’m a medical doctor and a university academic in a leading medical school in Sri Lanka, specialized in Public Health. Currently I’m based in Cardiff, United Kingdom attached to a leading Medical School in Wales as a Research Fellow. Amidst my busy schedule, I always dedicate time to discuss with our Managing Director who is based in Sri Lanka and contribute my best in decision making in every aspect of jewellery manufacturing process.

I’m Nihal Kaluarachchi. I’m a veteran in the gem industry, with over 40 years of experience as a gem collector and trader. I have participated in gem exhibitions held in many parts of the world including Tucson, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Japan, Korea, and Sri Lanka in the capacity of the Director, United Sapphires (Pvt) Ltd. and gathered experience in selecting high quality gemstones and pricing over decades. With my vast experience in the field of gem and jewellery, currently I’m totally involved with ‘The Blue Infinity’ as a consultant.
I consider it as a privilege to join ‘The Blue Infinity’, as it is a great pleasure contribute my knowledge and skills to a company with a vision beyond profit, and put the customer satisfaction and wellbeing of the workers as its priority.
